About the Product

Lexipol Performance Reporting replaces paper and spreadsheets with a digital system of record for the events that carry the most risk for an agency: use of force, vehicle pursuits, internal affairs cases, complaints and compliments, field investigations, and community encounters. Configurable digital forms capture the data in the field; the Command Center gives chiefs, supervisors, and analysts a real-time view of risk indicators, response trends, and outliers; early intervention surfaces patterns worth a conversation before they become incidents; and public dashboards let agencies share selected metrics with the communities they serve. It is the proof layer of the Lexipol platform — where policy, training, and performance data come together to show what an agency actually does.

The Role

Lexipol is seeking a Director of Product Management to own Performance Reporting end to end — strategy, roadmap, commercial performance, and execution. You will be accountable for where this product goes over the next several years and for whether it gets there. You will report to the Vice President of Product Management.

This is the most software-centered product in our portfolio, and the role reflects that. You will set strategy grounded in real market analysis and take new capabilities to market, while staying close enough to the engineering work to make sound calls on data model, reporting architecture, and integration design. You will lead product talent across both technical and non-technical roles, and you are accountable for their success, not just their output.

You will own the product’s full arc, not just its next release — balancing what customers need from the current product against where the technology should go over the next several years, as well as owning the investment calls that connect the two. The decisions you make here will shape this product well past your first year.

The stakes here are specific. Agencies use this data to defend their decisions, satisfy state mandates, and decide when to intervene with an officer. If a report is wrong, an audit trail is incomplete, or a risk score flags the wrong person, the consequences land on real careers and real communities. Getting the details right is the job.

What You’ll Own:

Product Strategy & Market Analysis

  • Define and own a multi-year strategy for Performance Reporting — where to invest, where to partner, and where to decline.
  • Conduct rigorous market analysis — sizing, segmentation, and competitive landscape — and turn it into a defensible view of where the product should go.
  • Build business cases for new capabilities and major investments, including revenue model, expected impact, and how success will be measured.
  • Track state mandates, accreditation standards, and transparency expectations, and position the product ahead of them.

Software Product Direction

  • Own roadmap direction and prioritization across digital forms, the Command Center, early intervention, and public dashboards.
  • Set direction and hold the bar on quality while the product owner side drives the delivery roadmap and backlog day to day.
  • Make informed calls on data model, reporting architecture, and performance at agency scale, and know the implications of each.
  • Own configurability as a product problem — agencies need forms and workflows that match their own policy without a services engagement every time.
  • Own the product’s technical direction over a multi-year horizon, including where to invest, sustain, or rearchitect.
  • Balance near-term customer commitments against longer-term platform investment, and make the trade-offs explicit.

Data Integrity & Responsible Insight

  • Own requirements for CJIS compliance, auditability, retention, access control, and chain of custody as product features, not constraints.
  • Set the standard for how early intervention scoring works — transparent inputs, explainable outputs, and thresholds agencies can defend.
  • Guard against false signals and misuse, and design so the product earns the trust of the officers it reports on as well as the leaders reading it.
  • Find where AI can facilitate work and deliver value without compromising accuracy, quality, or defensibility.

Go-to-Market Leadership & Commercial Ownership

  • Own go-to-market strategy for new capabilities and major releases, from positioning through adoption.
  • Lead cross-functional launch readiness end to end — beta and user acceptance testing, enablement, documentation, and implementation support.
  • Drive post-launch adoption and customer feedback loops, and hold the organization to the outcomes the launch promised.
  • Own pricing and packaging, including how Performance Reporting is sold on its own and alongside the rest of the platform.
  • Partner with product marketing and act as the connective tissue across engineering, design, implementation, sales, and customer success.
  • Own revenue, retention, and expansion performance, and represent the product with customers and at industry events.

Customer Insight & Advocacy

  • Run continuous discovery with chiefs, command staff, supervisors, records and compliance analysts, and the officers filling out the forms.
  • Use product analytics to see which reports get run, where workflows stall, and which features never get adopted.
  • Serve as the internal voice of the customer, and push back when priorities drift from what agencies actually need.

What We’re Looking For:

Requirements:  To be considered for this role, you will have this experience:

  • 6–10 years of product management experience, including full ownership of a product or product line and its commercial performance.
  • Success leading cross-functional go-to-market launches, pre- and post-launch.
  • Strong product strategy and market analysis skills, grounded in research.
  • Technical fluency to work credibly with engineering on data and architecture.
  • Experience with reporting or analytics software where accuracy is central.
  • Genuine customer-centricity, shown through a discovery practice you ran yourself.
  • Experience managing product talent in technical or non-technical roles.

Preferred:

  • Project Management Certification
  • Pragmatic Marketing Certification(s)
  • Experience with CJIS requirements is a strong plus.
  • Exposure to public safety, government, or other regulated environments.
  • Experience with compliance, risk, or audit-driven products built to withstand scrutiny.
  • Experience with configurable or template-driven products.
  • Familiarity with records management systems or other public safety data sources.

Why This Role: Employee Value Proposition

  • Full ownership of a high-potential product in a fast-moving part of our platform.
  • Hard, interesting problems — data integrity, configurability, and trusted insight.
  • Real latitude to shape where the technology goes, with live customers from day one.
  • Work that matters. Better data means earlier intervention and fairer outcomes.
  • A collaborative, remote-first environment with flexibility across US time zones.

The Environment

  • Full-time remote position with schedule flexibility requiring availability during core hours across US time zones.
  • Lexipol strives to provide a professional, ethical, and collaborative environment and is a largely remote workforce. Videoconference use is standard in meetings.
  • Join a dedicated and growing product team and be a key part in building the future of Lexipol’s offering.
  • Make a difference in the public safety profession through delivering superior offerings that elevate our customers’ performance to the public.

Compensation & Benefits

Lexipol offers a competitive base salary, annual incentive, and a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k) with company match and flexible paid time off.

Base salary for this role starts at $175,000 and higher, depending on experience, plus annual bonus.
